Don’t Waste Your Usefulness
You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet Matthew 5:13. ESV
1. Thank God for the opportunity He has given us to do good works to His glory. Thank God that He has given us the Holy Spirit to give us power to be salt and light to the world.
2. Christ's devoted followers, by their nature, are producers of good works. Pray that as ICA members, God will give us the grace to do away with reasons that make us fail to do good works as a great witness for our God. Pray that our preaching of the gospel will go along with good works.
3. Pray that we will recognize that our usefulness as believers is through our good works and that this is a call and duty. Pray that we are obedient to this call and practically change, nourish, and preserve the environment where God has placed us.
4. Pray that we realize that as the church, we are the only ones that have the power to withstand the power of evil and sin. Pray that we actively use this power and make a difference in societies. Pray that we will no longer afford to keep silent and passive.
5. Pray for the courage and boldness to be the unmistakable salt that our society and environment desperately need. Ask God to help us maintain our “saltiness” and stay effective and useful where He has placed us, despite distractions and challenges of life.
