Praying for Missionaries
- Pray for the protection of missionaries for ministering in harsh environments (e.g. Islamic nations, China, Russia and those ministering in countries at war)
- Pray that the Lord will supply their daily needs that they do live a life of lacking as they preach the good news
- Pray for missionaries to not fall into legitimate distractions. Pray for missionaries to obey the Word of God carefully and lean on his guidance on where and how to reach out and minister to his people.
- Pray for missionaries to remain diligent and motivated. In ministry, especially where accountability is limited, there is a risk of falling into idleness and laziness. The stress and exhaustion of living in different cultures and difficult places can make them feel discouraged and give up. Sometimes, just getting through the day is tough. Consequently, efforts in discipleship, evangelism, and prayer can become weakened.
- Pray against evil forces that would seek to hinder the spread of the gospel
- Pray for their health and well being of the families.
- Pray for unity and harmony among missionary teams, as well as with local churches and organizations with whom they collaborate
