Sent to the City
- God seeks to advance His mission by sending us His people into cities of the world. Pray that we will be committed to enhance our effectiveness in the mission of God by always recognizing the power of the city and reality of being sent by God Himself.
- Pray that we will be invested to fully understand the city. Pray that we will use the hazards and opportunities to bring the City to the centre of our planning and dreaming as God’s missionary people. Pray that we will invest ourselves in a continuous process of learning and asking what it means to be the people of God in the City where God has placed us.
- Pray that we will challenge ourselves to move from seeing our cities as problems to seeing them as opportunities. Pray that when it comes to the mission of God, ICA will continue to respond to the challenge accordingly and view cities as arenas to advance the Kingdom of God. Pray that as ICA we will understand and develop new vision for the city of Lilongwe and other cities we are placed or privileged to visit.
- Pray that as the people of God, we will express our being sent by working for the welfare of the communities to whom God has sent us and where we live.
- Pray that ICA members will lead the way in economic investment, in positive living and in being a blessing to their communities. Pray that we will use the platform of our citizenship of the city to be a blessing to the community. Pray that all our deeds will reflect out being a “sent people” and that we will work for the welfare of the City.
- Pray that we will seek and intentionally live out the gospel in the city and proclaim the gospel. Pray that as we do so we will also PRAY for the city. Pray that by prayer we will take the city back from the forces of darkness that are trying to control it.
- Pray that we understand that one reason that God has placed us in the city is so that we can pray for the city.
